What is isCa?
ISCA is a grassroots, volunteer run organization that networks over 37 support coordination companies throughout the state of Utah that services individuals on the Home and Community Based Waiver. It was established in 2010 in response to the Support Coordination services being privatized through the Division of Services for People with Disabilities. ISCA is a professional alliance and forum with our colleagues that creates easy access to key information through our meetings, website, memos, and committees.
ISCA provides monthly meetings and electronic posts for our members to keep them informed on relative issues. We sponsor an annual conference for our members to stay current with new research and developments related to our clients and businesses.

What is a support coordinator?
A support coordinator provides Medicaid waivered services to people with disabilities administered by DSPD. A support coordinator advocates for the clients needs, wants, desires, and rights. They monitor for health and safety, and assure that the needs of our consumers are met. The support coordinator works with the person centered planning team to develop client centered goals, and then help manage the state authorized budgets. Support coordinators provide monthly monitoring of clients. And ensure spending of the clients budgets are based on the person’s needs. Support coordinators also facilitation cost reductions through finding natural supports and community resources.
